Coimbatore, Dec 21
Let's cheer to welcome the Chennai football team whose homeground for the upcoming I-league football match would be Coimbatore. Hurrah..! Coimbatore will host its first Hero I League Football match from December 22 upto first week of March, 2018.
The I-league is a national level sports league consisting of international players playing in national tournaments conducted by All India Football Federation AIFF, which is the official governing body for football in India.
And, what could revive the sports fervour in the city than watching Tamil Nadu's home team - Chennai City Football Club (CCFC) play in Namma Kovai’s, Nehru Stadium as its home ground. To match up with the league standards, the Nehru Stadium has got a complete facelift. The CCFC has invested substantially to promote football as a game at grassroots level across Tamil Nadu.
Many times talents worth applauding go unnoticed. Hence, each player of the CCFC Team is an exploration of latent talent identified from small corners of the state. One such player to look forward to is captain of the team, Mr. Soosairaj, who comes from a small fishing hamlet, Thoothur from the Kanyakumari District. Mr. Soosai has been an instrumental player in all matches.
The next player to watch out for is Joachim or 'Junior' as they call him. An extremely consistent and top scorer in the league amongst all the teams, much is expected out of Junior. On December 22, the team will be playing its first home ground match here at Nehru Stadium against East Bengal, an equally strong and enthusiastic team.
But what can work against the opponent team is the wide loud cheer for CCFC in Namma Kovai Nehru Stadium. Why tune in channels, be there in person and experience the live atmosphere at Nehru Stadium. Book your passes now!
