The members of the JACTO-GEO organisation went on a hunger strike at Sivananda Colony here from this morning demanding the restoration of the old pension scheme as part of their seven-point demands.
The Organisation that includes State government employees, teachers and registered associations stated that the new pension scheme should be replaced by the old pension scheme. They also requested that the Seventh Pay Commission be implemented.
Desingu Rajan, District head, of the organisation, said that a number of government employees took part in today's programme.
