Coimbatore, Dec. 15
Dr. Paula Bannerji, Vice Chancellor, Sanskrit College & University, University of Calcutta, has exhorted the teachers to upgrade their knowledge. “A teacher must transform thought into action”, she urged them.
She was speaking as the chief guest at Nehru Group of Institutions while presenting the ‘Best Faculty Award and Life Time Achievement Awards' here today.

She spoke about the importance of research stating: “Everything is available in India and we should not depend on other countries. The problem in India is that we don’t attach much importance to accountability of thoughts and ideas. In foreign countries, faculty members strive hard to maintain consistency in their domain. Indian faculty members should hone their skills to compete with the emerging global needs.”
