Damaged road leads to death of two-wheeler rider near Sanganur

Coimbatore, December 15

The residents of Sanganur area today staged a road blockade for some time protesting against the death of a two-wheeler driver who was run over by a lorry.

According to eye witness accounts, when the rider tried to cross the road on his two-wheeler, a lorry from the opposite direction, lost its balance, and ran over him.

The public alleged that it was the road, which is in a very bad condition, was the root cause of many accidents taking place in the area.

The road connects Sanganur and Mettupalayam Road is seriously damaged.

The people from the area staged a road roko demanding a solution to the frequent accidents taking place on this road. Due to the poor condition of the roads that are frequented by lorries, there have been increasing number of accidents. 

The people demanded that the government take necessary action to prevent any more deaths as a result of accidents. The lorry driver has been arrested.
