A 70-year-old man fell to his death when the bus in which he was travelling got into a pothole here today.
Palanisamy (70), a resident of Ganapathymanagar, took a mini bus from S.R. P Mills to Edayarpalayam. Since the bus was crowded, he travelled on the footboard. When the bus got into a pothole, the elderly man lost his balance and fell to his death. Speaking about the incident, the police said that the road near the Government school in Chinavedampatti is full of potholes.
Owing to underground drainage work, roads are dug up but they are not closed. In the wake of this incident, the public hope that officials would take necessary steps to repair the pothole-filled roads at the earliest.
