Bike collides with lorry; two students killed


Coimbatore, December 11

Two college students died when a lorry collided with their bike on Mettupalayam Road, on Sunday in Coimbatore.

The students were residents of Velandipalayam. Muhammad Yaser Ararat (19), a second year B.Sc. student of a private college in Saravanampatti and Velliangiri (16), a Class 10 student, were returning after a attending a wedding in Podanur on a bike. Near Bharathi Park on Mettupalayam Road, a lorry collided with the bike killing the two on the spot.

On investigation, the Transport Investigation Wing has arrested Chinnakaruppan, the lorry driver hailing from Madurai, for further questioning.
