Coimbatore Home Guards kick-start mass dengue awareness campaign

The Coimbatore Home Guards have joined hands with the City Corporation Innerwheel club to eradicate dengue in the city by reaching out to the masses through comprehensive awareness campaign. 



Area commander Mr.T.K. Dhanasekar and Deputy Area Commander Mrs.Thenmozhi Rajaram from Home Guards launched the campaign today on at the Police training grounds. 



Speaking about the initiave, Mrs. Thenmozhi said "In a bid to eradicate dengue from the city, we have decided to conduct mass awareness campaign by reaching out to people to educate them on the prevention measures for dengue. The campaign would be marked by distribution of awareness pamphlets throughout the city. This year, around 70 people have lost their lives to dengue. Hence, we aim to eradicate dengue in the years to come through our concerted efforts with the city corporation. There are 440 Home Guards personnel in the city who will engage themselves in the campaign in a meaningful way". 



The campaign would be kick-started from January 2018, she added. 



Officials from Police and Inner Wheel club took part in the initiation.
