Environmentalist Foundation of India, as part of its initiative to revive Rural Water Bodies, restored the Thumbikairayen pond near Thondamuthur.
The pond situated at Vandikaranur, Thondamuthur, is spread over three acres. The revival process involved removal of scrap, weed and invasive species and regulating the inlet channels of the pond.
The process spanned over a week and was supported by the Town Panchayat.
