Babri mosque demolition day: Security beefed up; sniffer dogs and bomb squads in action

Coimbatore, Dec 5

Security has been tightened in the city on the eve of the anniversary of Babri Mosque demolition which falls on Wednesday December 6.

Additional security forces have been deployed at all vantage points including railway station, bus stands and airport to ensure that the day passes off peacefully. The city police have requested the people to extend their co-operation and also advised the police personnel in duty to behave cordially with the public.

"The city police will work in hand with the railway police to screen all luggages and consignments. Bomb squads, sniffer dogs will be deployed at all sensitive places", said an official.
