The technical trial of the 'Double Decker' (Coimbatore-KSR Bengaluru Express) rake with full set of coaches between Coimbatore and Somanayakkanpatti will be held tomorrow (on Tuesday).
According to a Southern Railway press release, this follows the successful trial between Coimbatore and Jolarpet.
The second trial will be held upto Somanayakkanpatti (next to Jolarpet in the Jolarpet-Bengaluru section) with a full rake of double decker coaches comprising 8 passenger coaches and 2 luggage cum brake vans at 9 am.
According to the revised timetable of the Southern Railways, the double decker train is referred to as Coimbatore-KSR Bengaluru Express and the train will depart from here at 5.45 am and reach Bengaluru at 12.40 pm the same day.
In the reverse direction, the train will depart at 2.15 pm and reach Coimbatore at 9 pm.
The people of this city, especially the software engineers who travel between Coimbatore and Bengaluru during weekends,have been waiting for long for this train.
However, the exact date of debut journey of the train is yet to be announced.
