The Kongu Global Forum (KGF) has urged the State Government to expedite acquisition of lands for Coimbatore airport expansion. Besides, it has pleaded for waiving the aviation fuel tax for night parking of aircraft at the Coimbatore airport so that more aircraft can be parked and operated.
According to a release from KGF, A Sakthivel, Chairman, Mrs. Vanitha Mohan, Convenor and other directors of KGF and its executive committee members submitted their requests to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Minister for Municipal Administration, S.P. Velumani , who were here on Sunday (Dec 3) in connection with the MGR centenary celebrations.
They also requested them to include KGF in the consultative committee for development of this region.
