Coimbatore, Dec 3
Expressing his condolences to the family of Raghupathy, who died here in a road accident recently, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman vehemently condemned the growing "banner culture" in the state and demanded an end to erecting them.
The NTK leader was in Coimbatore today to attend party events.
Speaking to the media at the city airport on several burning issues in the state, he said "the government has as usual failed to adopt preventive measures to overcome natural disasters like flood. Kanyakumari has become an island".
"While people in Ockhi flood afftected places are in misery, the Ministers are celebrating cenetenary celebrations of MGR in Coimbatore. This shows how much the government remains detached from the people", he lamented.
When questioned on Vishal's participation in the RK Nagar by-poll, he said "Assembly elections are not like producer association elections. People will decide their leader".
Director Ameer's statement of contesting in RK Nagar on behalf of NTK would be decided by tomorrow, he added.
