Around 1500 students from 30 educational institutions took part in the awareness rally organised to observe World AIDS day here.
The rally was flagged off by District Collector T.N. Hariharan from the collectorate. The students held placards to sensitize the public on the symptoms of the sexually transmitted disease, common misconceptions regarding AIDS and the how inclusivity could transform the lives of the HIV infected people.
The rally ended at the Health Department office in Race Course. Dr. Banumathy Additional Director, Health, joined the rally.
