Ahead of the centenary celebrations of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran scheduled here on December 3, the District administration and the ruling party are geared up to make it a grand success.
Already oratorical, essay, painting and poetry competitions are held at primary, corporation and government schools across the district. Besides these events, the Department of Arts and Culture, Tamil Nadu, along with Lalit Kalashetra will be organising drama and drawing competitions which are open for public participation.
According to a release from the District Collector, those who wish to participate in the drama competitions should be a group of five people trained in professional drama skills. The theme of the drama should definitely convey a social message. And, all the participants should be above 16 years of age.
And, those participants in the drawing competition should draw only the image of 'Puratchi Thalaivar' MGR. And, all drawing materials should be brought by the participants themselves.
The events have been slated for December 3 at a private college at Thondamuthur. All the winners will be awarded with cash prize, said the release.
