After more than 24-hours, Minister SP Velumani has come forward to clarify the AIADMK stance with regard to the death of Raghu (32) who allegedly died when his two-wheeler collided with a tipper lorry on Avinashi Road.
Recording his grief regarding Raghupathy's death, the Minister pointed out that erecting poles and pillars by political parties for various celebrations is a routine exercise.
While the public and opposition parties point fingers at AIADMK for planting poles at vantage points and creating public nuisance, the Minister pointed his fingers at MLA N. Karthick of Singanallur constituency for "misguiding and provoking" people to think that the accident was caused due to the poles fixed for MGR centenary celebrations slated on Dec 3.
The Minister further gave a new twist to the incident by revealing that the private company whose tipper lorry had caused the accident was given the contract to clear garbage and dump it in Vellalore dump yard during Mr. Karthick's tenure as deputy mayor. Hence, in order to safeguard the interest of that 'particular' company, Mr. Karthick has been "misleading" the public and creating a flutter in social media.
Mr. Velumani asserted that the poles had nothing to do with the death of the young IT engineer. "Legal action would be initiated against the tipper lorry for non-adherence to traffic rules and ultimately causing the death of a young man", he said.
