Incidence of dengue declines in the city

Coimbatore, Nov. 20

This season, dengue has claimed the lives of 60 plus people here. Hundreds of people from nearby districts were admitted to the special ward for dengue at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

However, the present in-patient count at CMCH reassures that the incidence of the mosquito-borne tropical disease has considerably  declined. As on date, only 30 patients - 7 men, 14 women and 9 children are undergoing treatment for dengue in the special ward at CMCH.

According to reports, around the same time last month, there were about 100 plus patients admitted to CMCH's dengue ward and other private hospitals. This steep fall in dengue cases is a huge  relief for the people and the city administration.
