An 11-year-old boy Ramesh of Karunanidhnagar in Ramanathapuram drowned in the Vellalore tank, even as he went there along with other boys to take bath.
Dinesh, son of Ramesh was on a visit to his grandparent's house at Vellalore when the mishap occurred.
Podanur police have registered a case and are investigating. The death of the young boy has caused grief among the locals of Vellalore.
