Coimbatore Corporation Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Dhanabal inspected drain and sewage cleaning operations in Peelameedu areas today. She directed sanitation workers to thoroughly clean blocked drains and instructed mass cleaning in Sringara Nagar where waste had accumulated significantly.
Coimbatore: Cleanliness and drain and sewage cleaning operations were carried out today (June 26, 2026) in Peelameedu areas under Ward 27 of Coimbatore Corporation North Zone under the leadership of Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanabal.

In the morning, work was undertaken to remove blockages and clean drains in Lalbhadur Colony. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanabal visited and inspected the operations. She instructed Ward Inspector Bhaskar to ensure the drain is thoroughly cleaned and water flow remains smooth. Ward Supervisor Easwari and sanitation workers were present during the inspection.

When the Councillor continued her inspection in Sringara Nagar area, she found tree waste and garbage accumulated in large quantities along the roadsides. Following this, she instructed Ward Supervisor Easwari to conduct mass cleaning tomorrow morning to thoroughly clean the area.

Later, the Councillor conducted inspections in Lalbhadur Colony, Gopal Nagar and Sringara Nagar areas and enquired with residents whether the door-to-door garbage collection auto is coming regularly every day. She also instructed sanitation workers to remove garbage accumulated along roadsides daily and maintain the area cleanly.
The Councillor also inspected Kamalajin Street area. She enquired with residents whether the battery-operated auto for daily door-to-door garbage collection is coming regularly. Moreover, noticing that sewage cleaning had not been done in that area, she immediately instructed Ward Supervisor Easwari to thoroughly clean the sewage system.

The Councillor visited and inspected sewage cleaning work in Muthu Street-Muthu Santhu area. She then instructed sanitation workers to thoroughly clean the sewage system. Furthermore, she instructed Ward Supervisor Easwari to obtain signatures and phone numbers from residents on completion notes during sewage cleaning operations.
Ward Supervisor Easwari, Ward Inspector Bhaskar and sanitation workers participated in all these cleanliness operations.
