Govt. teacher resigns over NEET imposition, stages sit-in dharna within the village school



Sabarimala, a 34-year-old  working in a primary school near Tindivanam has submitted her resignation, citing her job being a hindrance to fight against social causes like NEET. 

The Tamil teacher who is working in Vairapuram panchayat middle school, boycotted classes and staged a sit- in dharna in the school against NEET, yesterday.

Holding aloft placards, the teacher accompanied by her son carried on the protest at the school. The police arrived at the scene and told her to give up the protest on the grounds that she has not obtained legal permissions to stage the protest.

Meanwhile, Sabarimala submitted her resignation today to Mathivanan, District Elementary Officer.



“My position as a teacher is proving a hindrance to take up social causes, so I have submitted my resignation. I want to create awareness among children and youth about the need for uniform education throughout the nation” the teacher with a cause said.
