Candle light vigil organized in the city to condole the death of journalist Gauri Lankesh

A candle light vigil was organized in the city to condole the death of Gauri Lankesh, editor of Lankesh weekly in Bangalore who was shot dead in Bangalore.

The said journalist was shot dead by unidentified miscreants even as she was entering her house after work hours on Tuesday night.



Various progressive social organizations took part in the candle light vigil organized in Periyar Padipakam in Gandhipuram.

Alleging that Sangha Periyar elements were behind the murder of the 55- year old Gauri Lankesh, the organizers said the daring woman journalist consistently fought against the divisive Hindutva forces in her life time and so was targeted and killed for her secular credentials.
