Erring senior cop transferred and put on compulsory wait following “molestation incident”



Following wide spread condemnation of a senior police officer caught on camera  molesting a woman Police Officer during the anti-NEET protests organized by the students in the city, the officer allegedly involved in the incident was transferred and put on compulsory wait by the higher ups in the Police department.



The video clippings of the said incident involving Assistant commissioner (Law and order) Jayaraman molesting a fellow woman cop went viral in social medias and TV channels who aired it repeatedly.

The members of Jananayaka Mathar Sangam, a women rights organization have petitioned A. Amalraj City Police Commissioner urging him to take prompt disciplinary action against the erring senior cop yesterday.

Following which the cop involved in molestation incident was transferred overnight by Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj and put on compulsory wait, without any posting.

DCP Lakshmi conducted a day-long inquiry with the erring officer, whose misbehavior with the woman cop has shown Tamilnadu police in bad light.
