Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya inspected the Kodappamund channel that cuts through the hill town and one of vital water resources which has been higly polluted in recent decades.
The Collector accompanied by officials inspected the channel that runs through Ooty town and discussed about the renovation of the channel with officials.
Dumping of plastic wastes and emptying of sewers has reduced the water channel, which supported wide variety of flora and fauna a few decades back. The channel water was used for drinking purpose a century back.
