VKN Nagar residents wallow in misery, as basic amenities remain a distant dream.

Owing to official apathy the VKN Nagar area residents ,which comes under 6th ward of City Corporation are wallowing in misery due to official apathy of Corporation officials.

Denied of all basic amenities, be it water supply, garbage pile up, bad roads and stray dog menace, the residents are put in an unenviable situation, as complaints and petitions made in this regard fell only on deaf ears.

Alleging that the City Corporation has turned a blind eye to the needs of their Ward, the residents of VKN nagar say, repeated appeals to the officialdom went unheeded and the whole area is crying for attention from want of all civic amenities.

The residents who are thus forced to live apathetic conditions while speaking to Simplicity said, "Water supply system is the worst affected of the lot, as drinking water is being supplied only once in 20 days. Hence, we are forced to buy water from private tanker operators, after shelling out money out of their own pockets".

While streets lights have been in disuse for long, plunging the streets in total darkness after sun down, the stray dog menace has raised its ugly head proving a die hard menace. "The Residents are skeptical to venture out of their houses due to the stray dog menace and remain indoors after night fall" complain the residents.

Adding woe to the existing problems is the breaches reported in major pipelines, which goes unattended and creates puddles in roads making it impassable for both pedestrians and motorists.

The residents bemoan that "Even the garbage disposal system has not been a well-oiled one, the door to door collection of garbage within the civic body limits remain only on paper and is being carried out once in week in VKN Nagar.

Complaining that Kaundampalayam MLA Arukutty has not visited their area even once after getting elected, the residents complain that "despite complaining over and over to the MLA, nothing has changed".

The residents of Ward No:6, VKN Nagar plead that the corporation officials should take steps to address the pressing issues of their locale without any hiatus.

Even as the civic polls have been stalled for months, there has been a no Ward Councilor to look after our welfare. In this scenario we are left with no other option but to appeal to the Special officer and CCMC Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan to ensure that civic amenities are catered to all the areas without a hitch, the residents urged..
