Completion of Fortnightly Cleanliness Awareness Campaign (Swachch Pakhwada) launched in Salem Division, Southern Railway.


With a view to improve Cleanliness in railway premises and to inculcate the habit of hygienity in the hearts of rail users and to improve the cleanliness in the railway premises, a fortnightly Cleanliness Awareness Campaign was observed all over Indian Railways, from 16.08.2017 to 31.08.2017. During this period, various cleaning and awareness activities were carried out all over Salem Division, Southern Railway. 





Various themes were observed during this period, on daily basis, such as Swachch (Cleanliness) Awareness, Swachch Samwad (Cleanliness Propoganda), Swachch Station (Railway Station Cleaning), Swachch Railgaadi (Clean Rail Coaches), Swachch Parisar (Clean Railway Premises, including railway offices), Swachch Aahar (Clean Food), Swachch Neer (Clean Water installations), Swachch Prasadhan (Clean Toilets) and Swachch Review (Review of the activities undertaken during the period). 







The above activities were carried out by the Officers and Staff of Salem Division, in various railway stations such as Salem, Erode,Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Udhagamandalam (Ooty), Tirupattur, Morappur, Attur, Chinna Salem, Salem Town etc., Various NGOs, General Public, Students from schools and colleges, also took active part in the activities with enthusiasm and vigor. Sri Hari Shankar Verma, DRM, Salem, appreciated the active participation of all stake holders in the cleaning and cleanliness awareness programs during the Cleanliness Awareness Fortnight, and has requested everyone to continue their efforts in ensuring the railway premises to be kept clean always.
