"The lives of hundreds of Muslims living in Myanmar are at stake as the Muslim civilians in Rohingya area were burnt and tortured to death by the Burmese government. It is highly condemnable that the world nations are tight-lipped about the whole issue", said M.H. Jawahirullah, President of Manithaneya Makkal Katchi.
Speaking in the city about the brutal killings unleashed on muslims in Myanmar, Jawahirullah added that it is highly disturbing that these brutalities are being staged on people while Aung San Suu Kyi, recipient of Noble Prize for peace is serving as the state counsellor of Myanmar.
"The brutishness discharged on Muslims in Myanmar has been verified and condemned by Amnesty International, an international NGO fighting for human rights. Hence, on behalf of Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, we are planning to appeal to the UN Human Rights Council", Jawahirullah notified.
Jawarharullah also shared his view on TN State politics by urging that Governor Vidhyasagar C Rao should call for assembly and conduct a floor test to ascertain the majority. He also apprised that on behalf of DMK, VCK and his party, he met the Governor this morning and requested him to call for a floor test.
"It is pertinent in a democratic country like India, to uphold the constitutional rights" he urged.
