Students from New Delhi visit Coimbatore, to evaluate and ascertain viability of smart city projects.


A group of students from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi along with their faculty are here in the city to ascertain and evaluate the viability of implementation of various schemes and initiatives, under the Coimbatore Smart City Ltd. 

The team who have split in five groups will visit various places in the city and prepare a detailed smart city proposal report, under the supervision of urban local bodies. Also, plans and interventions that needs to be carried out for successful transformation of the city into a smart city will also be suggested by the team, who will be present here for a period of 15 days. 

The team will also look into the need of setting up a comprehensive storage facility in Coimbatore, as the city is a vital hub for imports and exports. The team will also undergo a complete evaluation of the Vellalore dump yard and submit their proposals for upgrading it the best possible way.
