"Central State and govt has wiped away the MBBS dreams of hundreds of students", alleged SDPI party during protest.

The cadres of the Social Democratic Party of India, Coimbatore Chapter today organised a rally condemning the State and Central governments for wiping away the prospects of students from rural areas and economically weaker classes in the name of NEET.

Close to 50 protestors showed their agitation vehemently by raising intense slogans against the Central government for forcing NEET on Tamil Nadu and wiping away the dreams of hundreds of students who aspired to pursue MBBS. The protestors also alleged that as usual the state government has failed miserably to protect the interests of it's own students by not putting enough pressure on the centre to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET.

"The erroneous decisions of the governments in implementing NEET without upgrading the educational standards of such students has ultimately affected the students who hail from poor economic backgrounds and students of all government schools", the infuriated protestors shared.

The protestors started their rally from the office of Superintendent of Police Office in Ram Nagar and reached the Collectorate. While the protestors tried to forcibly enter the Collectorate, the police arrested 23 of the protestors.
