Bathing of tourists in Kovai Kutralam falls, one of the main tourist attractions in the city has been banned owing to heavy flooding caused by the incessant rains experienced in Siruvani forests and neighbouring areas.
Police pickets have been postedto prevent bathers and tourists entering the arena.
The incessant rains brought about by the South West monsoon has caused flooding and with it small branches and stones might get washed down, causing injury. The heavy flooding in the falls is not fit for bathing and it might lead to drowning accidents said Forest officials.
