Insanitary conditions prevailing in Puliakulam Masal lay-out, a triggering factor for illnesses

Insanitary conditions prevailing in Puliakulam Masal lay out would be a trigger for major outbreak of dengue and other monsoon related illnesses if the Corporation do not act on time and close the major sewer there.

Garbage pile up has clogged the free flow of sewer and the whole place has become a breeding site for mosquitoes. The reeking odor and unhygienic conditions add woe to the 400 families living in Masal lay out.

Even though we have petitioned the City Corporation umpteen times, the place where over 400 impoverished families live do not get the necessary attention from civic officials.

“Clean up drives are conducted when supervisory authorities are present, otherwise no regular garbage disposal is carried out in our area ‘say the residents.

With the number of fatalities mouting due to dengue outbreak in the city, the insanitary conditions prevailing in Puliakulam might contribute for another out break of dengue and flu say the residents.
