The inordinate delay in arranging for an alternative flight service to Mumbai by a private carrier led to air passengers staging a dharna inside the city airport.
Air Indigo plane which was scheduled for 2.30 pm departure was cancelled due to technical faults which the plane developed at the last minute. As the officials did not intimate about the issue to the waiting passengers and also failed to arrange for an alternative service for hours, the passengers started arguing with the officials of the private carrier and staged a dharna inside the airport.
However the passengers withdrew their dharna as officials guaranteed to arrange for an alternative flight service by 7 pm.
