Noisy scenes were witnessed in the first day of TNAU counselling for admission to undergraduate courses as parents argued with TNAU authorities over allotment of seats.
Urging the TNAU authorities to allot seats which might fall vacant due to students joining medical colleges to those who have scored lesser marks, the parents said the students would be benefited by this.
The first stage of counselling is held for students who have scored 197-200 cut off marks for admission to various courses in TNAU campus today.. A total of 397 students have been selected for various under graduate courses conducted by TNAU and its affiliated colleges.
As some of the students are waiting for NEET results and might join in a medical college, the parents of the candidates demanded that the TNAU authorities should allot those seats falling vacant to the others who have scored lesser marks in the ranking list to which the TNAU authorities refused.
The Parents opined that the TNAU could have held its counselling after the NEET results to avoid such confusions.
