Tourists continue to throng Kothagiri view point despite the end of summer vacation.

Even though the summer vacation has ended and schools reopened the tourists inflow into Kothagiri and surrounding areas in Nilgiris have only increased by the day. The footfalls of tourists in in Kothagiri view point is increasing by day as if offer a panoramic view of the plains below.

The Kothagiri view point is one of the favorite tourist haunts (near Kodanad estate) in the Nilgiris, from where the tourists can enjoy a panoramic view of Bhavanisagar dam, the fertile paddy filed of Thengumaratta and confluence of Moyar river with Bhavani irver.

Even though the forest department has fenced the area to avoid any eventuality over enthusiastic tourists step beyond the fences to take selfies and shots, which might pose danger to their lives warn the the forest department officials.

The continuing heat waves in interior parts of Tamilnadu and other states could be the reason for tourists visiting the hill stations and resorts in this summer said.
