2,27,868 school students benefited under free text book scheme - District Collector TN.Hariharan.


Free text books and note books have been distributed to 2,27,868 students studying in Government schools in the district. While 1,92,399 school students have been distributed with free note books studying in first standard to 10th standard, 1,19,357 studying under the 8th standard have been distributed with uniforms and nutritious meals said District Collector T.N.Hariharan.

Fourteen types of educational tools including free laptop, bicycles and even sandals are being distributed to school students by the Government he said.

“To facilitate thorough preparation for public examinations the government had announced the examination dates for the 2017-2018 academic year. The students are highly benefited by these welfare measures which are targeted at the poorest sections studying in the schools.
