In a major eviction operation against encroachment of Corporation - owned reserve sites the officials evicted encroachments from 18 cents of land at VVC layout area in East zone (ward 18).
One Natarajan has encroached upon the park site and pitched to shed to keep cattle and run his milk vending business. It is said that the third party had used the park site for the past twenty years.
Another major encroachment in which a third party had constructed a house and used it for subletting has also been retrieved and the illegal occupants evicted. The total value of evicted lands is said to be at Rs.4 cores.
