607 kg of banned plastic products seized and Rs.1.23 lakhs slapped on erring shop keepers.

Corporation officials have seized 607 kg of banned plastic products from as many as 571 shops and business establishments cutting across all the five zones and slapped spot fines to the tune of Rs.1.23 lakhs.

The seizures were effected from June 10 to June 16 said corporation officials.

The Corporation has intensified its drive against plastic bags and from May 1 and storing, selling and selling of plastic products which fall below 50 micron level has been totally banned in city corporation limits.

The anti-drive plastic has gained momentum of late and huge seized effected every week.
