Police arrested Rajendran (62) of Mullepalayam near Karamadai on charges of murdering Chandra his second wife with the use of boulder.
According to police Rajendran, a daily wage earner picked up a quarrel with his wife and in a fit of rage he had picked up a boulder and hit her on her head. Chandra died on the spot.
Police recovered the body of Chandra and sent it for postmortem. It is said that both husband and wife had been under the influence of alcohol when the murder took place.
