The residents of Sukrawarpettai has thronged the Collectorate and petitioned District collector TN Hariharan to set right the supply of unpotable and contaminated water to the residents in the area.
The drinking waters supplied by the civic body is highly contaminated and mixed with sewage. They alleged that sewage water has finds its way into the pipeline supplying drinking water, the consumption of which might lead to gastroenteritis.
“Even the as the monsoon has set in the contamination might get worsened. The repeated complaints to the corporation officials have only fell on deaf ears” they alleged.
