‘Rajini likely to announce political entry on birthday’

Rajinikanth is likely to discuss his political future in a concrete manner when he meets his fans in August, sources close to the actor said.

The actor, who is currently shooting for Kaala in Mumbai, had recently told his fans “get ready for war when it comes to them,”when he met them in Chennai last month.

Sources close to the actor said that he had been discussing politics and are confident that he will take the plunge this time around. While his fans have been strictly asked not to participate in television debates without permission, senior members of the fan clubs are confident that he is likely to make a big announcement on his birthday on December 12.

“He has some great plans. It does look like he is serious this time,” said a person who has worked with him in one of his recent films.

The actor has two releases next year — director Shankar’s 3-D science fiction film 2.0 and Pa. Ranjith’s Kaala for which he is currently shooting. Meanwhile, the huge success of actor Aamir Khan’s Dangal in China has encouraged producers of 2.0 to push for a release in that country in over 10,000 screens.
