An aged couple Patten and Kamala of Puliampatti have petitioned Superintendent of Police alleging police harassment.
According to the aged couple, their son Thangaraj who was married to Jothi was engaged in a romantic relationship with another woman Gokila and had eloped with her 10 months back.
Annur Police who are investigating the elopement has picked Pattan and his son Senthil Kumar for interrogation and subjected them to third degree methods.
“The police have been assaulting us from day one after my elopement happened. We are in no way responsible for his elopement. The police have also taken Senthil kumar, my younger son and he has not returned home yet’ the couple said.
