Differently- abled person staged a demonstration in front of taluk office demanding to scale down the GST levies on calipers, tricycles, hearing aids, and braille type writers.
“The Government has levied 18% GST on braille type writers, while hearing aids have attracted 12% GST, which is beyond the reach of differently –abled” the demonstrators said.
They also demanded zero tax for tricycles, crutches and calipers and demanded that the Government should scale down the taxes as is dine in the case of movie tickets and jewelries.
