Newly married couple petitions Police Commissioner seeking security

A newly married Ram Kumar and Kavitha of Thevattipatti in Salem district has petitioned Police Commissioner A. Amalaraj to provide them with police security as they feared for their lives following their intercaste marriage.

The couple who tied the knot at the Marudamalai temple after fleeing from their native village have taken refuge in Commissioner’s office as their feared for their lives. The parents of Kavitha has opposed to their love affair as Ramkumar belongs to scheduled caste and they sought to marry off Kavitha to another groom , which resulted in the love pair fleeing their village and tying the knot in the temple.

Ramkumar, who belongs to Kadachanallur in Namakkal district is running a readymade shop at Thevattipatti when she met Kavitha and fell in love with her.
