Akhil Bharatha Hindu Mahasabha petitions collector seeking to streamline gold schemes by jewelers

The cadres of Akhil Bharatha Hindu Mahasabha has petitioned District collector T. N.Hariharan urging him to streamline the gold chit schemes being in vogue in various jewelry shop and chains in the city.

Alleging that various bench marks and rates for wastage and making charges are being collected from customer by various jewelry chains, the Hindu Maha Sabha cadres said some shop take the customer for a ride and refuse to refund the golf chit deposits. "Most of the jewellery shops are fleecing the public by charging extra for such schemes and robbing customers of their hard earned money" the cadres alleged.

Praying that the special committee be formed to investigate complaints and streamline the gold chit business in the city, the cadres said the unwitting public should be saved from greedy practices of some gold jewelry chains.
