District collector inaugurates signature campaign on World Day Against Child Labour, distributes education assistance of Rs.36,000


District collector TN Hariharan inaugurated a signature campaign in view of World Day against Child Labour being observed today and distributed educational assistance to the tune of Rs.36,000 and educational kits to the 10th and Plus two students who have been pursuing education after being rescued from child labor.



“To create awareness on child labour the signature campaign would be conducted in Gandhipuram, Singanallur and Ukkadam bus stations, Saibaba colony and other areas. Due to concerted efforts taken by the National Child labour Project officials, the child labour practices have been brought to an end in the district. “The Collector said.



“Various competitions in poetry, essay, oratory and painting have been organized at each Musicality level, and the district level competitions would be conducted on June 27 and prizes would be distributed to create awareness on anti-child labour practices the collector said.

The Collectorate employees took a World Day against Child labour oath to eradicate child labour.Vijayakumar, Project officer, National Child Labor Project and DRO Durai Ravichandran took part in the function.
