Continuing with the ongoing drive to retrieve and reclaim encroachments on reserve sites, the city Corporation officials retrieved 1.27 acres of lands worth about Rs.9.6 cr. across all four zones of the civic body.
“The reserve sites which have been encroached in Vadavalli, Kalapatti, Vellakinaru and Elango nagar have been retrieved and warning boards erected to ward off offenders” said K. Vijayakarthikeyan, City Corporation Commissioner.
The retrieved sites have been put to use by laying parks, creating nurseries and social forestry in various zones.
