Police have registered a case against Dr. Navin Balaji an alternative medical practitioner and his nursing home near Ellispettai near Gopichettipalayam for causing the death of the 17-year old girl student, who was studying in a polytechnic college.

Bhagyasri (17) of Omalur, who was said to have suffering from epilepsy was admitted in a private clinic run by Navin Balaji, an alternative medical practitioner by her parents Shakti and Mangaiyarkarasi a few days back.
In the meanwhile Shakti and Mangaiyarkarasi have left for a relative’s marriage, while Bhagyasri was in the hospital on June 2. On their returning the hospital authorities have told them that Bhagyasri had died due to medical complications. The hospital authorities also arranged for the corpse to be transported to their house by an ambulance.

Shocked and dismayed at the sudden death of their daughter, the parents have alleged the medical negligence has caused the death of their daughter and alleged that the doctors in the hospital could not furnish a valid reason for the sudden death.

Police who arrived at the scene after initial interrogation registered a case against the hospital authorities for causing death due to negligence.
The body of Bhagyasri was sent for postmortem to Government Medical college Hospital.
