Vaiko, MDMK General Secretary was detained at Kuala Lumpur airport by the immigration officials, who denied him permission to enter the country saying that he has proven links with LTTE sympathizers in Malaysia.
Vaiko had taken a flight to Kuala Lampur to attend the marriage reception of daughter of Prof. Ramasamy, Deputy Chief Minister of Penang. Vaiko who had landed in the airport along with his personal secretary at around 6.30 am today was detained by the immigration officials on his arrival.
The officials who detained him, also took away his pass port saying that he has proven links with LTTE elements working from Malaysian soil.
Even though Penang Chief minister Lim Guan Eng had tried to help him out to gain entry into Malaysia, the immigration officials stood firm and declined his request.
It is learnt that preparations are made to send Vaiko back to Chennai by 10.45 evening flight.
