Residents in IOB colony left in the lurch without basic amenities.

Even the basic amenities such as roads and street lights are not catered to the residents of Ward 17 of City.

Corporation, and the residents of IOB colony and Zion Nagar are living in perpetual fear of wild elephant as the neighborhood is close to Marudamalai.

Arputharaj, President of Residents Association of IOB colony said “Though preparations were made and blue metals were off loaded on the road sides to lay new roads, almost three years back, still nothing has been accomplished. Residents are forced to traverse in bad roads which is full of pot-holes and cesspools'.

Though the residents have petitioned KRG Arunkumar, legislator of Coimbatore North and the Corporation officials no action has been taken on this front.

“Due to absence of street lights the residents are afraid of venturing out after night fall as they fear fro movement of wild elephants. We wonder whether the situation will change after the local bodies elections which are due" say the residents.
