“Property Developer grabbed channel lands to construct Parsn Sesh Nestle in Nanjundapuram” - Alleges Resident

Dr. S.Kanagasundaram, a Civil Engineer and former President, Association of Licensed Building Surveyors petitioned District Collector T.N. Hariharan alleging that a water channel has been encroached and a Gated community has been created by the property developer.

Noting that ‘Parsn Sesh Nestle’, Nanjundapuram Road, Ward 75, East Zone, Coimbatore was constructed on encroached lands of a channel he has stated in the petition and that the channel has a separate SF No 149/2B Ramanathapuram Village and it is also reflected in a recent sale deed no 1449/2017 dated April 27th, 2007.

“A block of flats (Block 10) is also resting on the encroached waterway at one corner. There is no entry of re-registration of this channel from 29-11-1994 till today” the petitioner has stated in the petition.

'The said water way is situated on a Poramboke land which is grabbed by the property developer. A supermarket building on the channel was also constructed by third parties, which led to the complete disappearance of the water way.

As there are  High Court judgments against to end destruction of water bodies, the district administration should intervene and make the property developers face legal action for such wanton grabbing of public lands', alleges Kanagasundaram.
