CCMC Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan inaugurated state of the art, battery-operated garbage collection vehicles at Cypress Oak apartments here.
According to Suresh Bhandari, Solid Waste Management Expert, green and blue colored vehicles are introduced by the City Corporation for door to door garbage collection. While the green colored vehicles would be pressed into service for biodegradable wastes, the green colored vehicles would college non-biodegrable solid wastes.
The vehicles are so designed to efficiently collect solid waste from apartments and gated – communities he said.
