Two others were also attacked by the same elephant and killed in Vellalampudur, during its mid night raid.

The Tusker that is said to be in a masth state, entered Sundarapuram area at about 2 pm, from the Madukkarai forest area. The Tusker then trampled to death, Gayathri and her mother Jothimani, who were sleeping in the front yard of their house. Jothimani's husband, Vijayakumar was also seriously injured in the wild elephant attack.
The rampaging Tusker then left the place and entered Vellalampalayam near Vellalore and attacked Nagarathinam (75) and Palanisamy (73) who were sleeping in their hutments. Both of them died on the spot.
